11 families received flood relief in Narendrapur and Sonarpur Branch :-

Due to heavy rainfall, there were several areas in West Bengal, which were flooded. There were many believers who had to be under waist deep waters for several weeks of water stagnation in their areas. Even their houses were filled with knee deep water which was contaminated by dead animals. It was hard for them to cook, to go for work and survive. Then the church shortlisted few of the very needed families and shared the message of hope in Christ through providing some basic food items like rice, cheera, muri, sugar, biscuits.

   

God helped us to distribute blankets to the needed believers in the slum and in the remote areas during last Christmas also, as it happened all the other years. The Church shared the love of Christ as nearly 150 blankets were distributed this time, to those who could not afford to buy during the winter months. Not only that we also gave hundreds of pencil and tiffin boxes to the needy children who attend the children ministry of the Church in various places. The believers themselves raised fund together for all these. The church witnessed the heart of giving as a lady believer could save only Rs.5 every week in a clay pot for six months and gave the entire money to the church for this purpose! The previous year, we distributed blankets to the rickshaw-pullers and to those poor people who were in urgent need.
